Dear La Vernia ISD Community:
As the school year comes to a close, I reflect upon my two-month tenure since becoming your Superintendent. In thinking about my experiences since joining the La Vernia community, at every event, in every campus I visited, I felt like I was home.
Our community is unique in its passionate commitment to student success and dedication to supporting our teachers and schools. The enthusiasm in the hallways and classrooms of La Vernia has definitely inspired me. It has been my privilege to see our teachers and staff members come together to host community events and share our mission. Our LVISD faculty and staff continually demonstrated their dedication to student learning and student growth in every lesson and activity. The Superintendent’s Student Leadership Council worked together to create a statement of our vision for all students. That is, La Vernia students are Bold Empowering Ambitious
Students are clearly a reflection of parental beliefs and values and a hope for the future. Parents should be applauded for consistently preparing their children for school and supporting them along their journey, even on the last day of school. At each campus this morning, students were welcomed with smiles, warm greetings, and an increased, visible presence so that students could feel comfortable and have a sense of normalcy. La Vernia and Wilson County officers teamed up to ensure security and to help students and parents feel more at-ease. We were privileged to receive additional support from our extended community with the presence of the East Central Police Department. We appreciate everyone who came together for our La Vernia students.
Together, we are creating a bright future for our students and our district with La Vernia Bear pride at the heart of all we do.
Honored to Serve,
Trent Lovette, Ed.D.
Superintendent, La Vernia ISD
