The La Vernia Independent School District Board of Trustees adopted a $33.3 million balanced budget for the 2018-2019 school year.
The budget is focused on promoting district-wide safety planning and security measures, enhancing curriculum programming and instructional support, and providing a two percent salary increase for all returning employees.
“The work of Dr. Lovette and the La Vernia ISD team this summer has laid the foundation for an exciting upcoming school year,” said Cynthia Buerkle, President of the Board of Trustees. “By adopting a balanced budget, we are able to add important programs that will enhance the educational experience for each of our students.”
Other funding priorities include adding new personnel to La Vernia ISD’s dynamic and talented roster of teachers, staff, and administrators.
“I want to thank the Board of Trustees for their tireless efforts toward enhancing the quality of our academic programs for students across all campuses and promoting the standing of every employee in our district,” said Dr. Trent Lovette, Superintendent of Schools. “Their unwavering commitment to taking care of our people will help La Vernia ISD attract and retain the high-quality teachers and staff that all of our students deserve.”
